FAQ’s vital baby® AQUAINT® sanitising water

Our vital baby® AQUAINT® sanitising water is a revolutionary 100% natural cleansing water that can kill 99.9% of bacteria in just seconds.  Safe to use on baby’s hands and skin, it is perfect for use in the home or when out and about and can be sprayed on just about anything including soothers, teethers, hands, and household items.

Below we address some of the questions we often get asked.

 

  1. As your sanitiser is alcohol free what is your response to experts who say we need at least 70% alcohol to kill bacteria?

It should be noted that there are a number of active ingredients that are effective against viruses, but where the active ingredient is alcohol, it should be at a concentration of not less than 70%. vital baby® AQUAINT® sanitising water is registered as a Cosmetic Product and as such we are only permitted to make antibacterial claims. With regards to coronavirus, simply washing your hands with soap and water or using a sanitiser is recommended as a good enough precaution to be effective.

 

  1. What is it that’s killing the germs?

Water provides the base for it to be an effective cleanser, but it’s the Hypochlorous acid that provides the anti-bacterial properties and kills the germs and bacteria. Hypochlorous acid is a non-harmful acid that’s naturally produced in our bodies to fight bacteria and germs.

 

  1. Would babies/kids then need a moisturiser after they use it for any dryness?

Unlike alcohol gels, vital baby® AQUAINT® doesn’t dry out your skin, so there is no need for you to moisturise after use.

 

  1. Is it safe? Does it contain harmful chemicals?

Absolutely. The ingredients are perfectly safe for human contact, including when used on surfaces, hands, faces and mouths. It’s also safe to swallow, even from birth!

 

  1. Does it contain harmful chemicals?

Not at all! There’re only 2 ingredients in our sanitising water – Water and Hypochlorous acid. Hypochlorous acid is naturally produced in our bodies to fight bacteria and germs – it doesn’t have any harmful chemicals, alcohol or fumes and is also frequently used in medical products such as eye drops.

 

  1. Is it organic?

No, vital baby® AQUAINT® is not organic as it contains no organic matter and water is not organic.

 

  1. Is it vegan?

It is, yes! vital baby® AQUAINT® is suitable for use by vegetarians and vegans.

 

  1. Once I have sprayed it how long does it last?

It’s effective at the time of use like any regular sanitiser, so it must be used as and when you feel it is necessary. The advice is generally to use sanitisers ‘as little as possible, but as often as necessary’. It does not contain any residual chemicals that remain on the skin and continue to be active for a number of hours after application.

 

  1. Do I need to rinse or wipe it once I have sprayed it

No, as it does not leave any residues behind. It can be wiped dry, but do ensure that the item being used for drying is clean.

 

  1. Can I use it on sensitive skin?

Absolutely. Our sanitising water has been dermatologically and clinically tested to be gentle on skin and has been endorsed by Allergy UK as an Allergy Friendly Product!

 

  1. Will it kill coronavirus?

vital baby® AQUAINT® is registered as a Cosmetic Product and as such we are only permitted to make antibacterial claims. With regards to coronavirus, simply washing your hands with soap and water or using a sanitiser is recommended as a good enough precaution to take.

VitalBaby sanitizing water has been with us for over 5 years now. It is a life saviour when it comes to killing bad gems. The best thing that it doesn’t have chemicals and it is made of natural ingredients, which is very important for our family. Great job VitalBaby!
